Bellevue Ultimate Camp
Our Story
About Camp
Our camp will be a place for kids with all skill levels and backgrounds to come and enjoy the sport of Ultimate. New players and experienced players alike will have access to one-on-one coaching to help them achieve their goals, whether that be learning the basics of the game and throws or growing as future leaders of their team. Of course, camp will be all about play, so there will be countless opportunities for reps in drills, scrimmages, and games. There will be plenty of time and opportunity to play non-Ultimate related games and to enjoy long summer days outside.
Noah Ching, Camp Director
I was introduced to Ultimate Frisbee in 2006 as a 5th grader at my Seattle based elementary/middle school and like so many schools in Seattle, my school adopted the sport for its high level of accessibility needing just 8 cones, a disc, and some friends to play. I fell in love with the sport pretty much instantaneously. I loved the camaraderie with teammates, the community built within the sport, and the balance of sportsmanship and high level competition. Since then, I continued to play through high school and college where I grew tremendously as a player and leader.

In addition to playing for over 15 years, I was lucky enough to begin coaching while still in college and have continued to do so for the past 8 years and counting at Eastside Preparatory School. In fact I enjoyed coaching so much, that it helped inform my career path as I now teach middle school and upper school physical education, environmental science, and social science at Eastside Prep as well. In my time coaching I have helped both individuals and teams to achieve their goals, whether that be personal success or team accolade in the form of state championships and sportsmanship awards. Since I began coaching the varsity program in 2018, I have coached 20 incredibly talented all-conference honorees including 3 individual recipients of the Emerald Sound Conference Most Valuable Player award. As far as team success, I have helped coach teams at Eastside Prep to two Washington state championships, three Emerald Sound Conference championships, and three Emerald Sound Conference sportsmanship awards. We have been nationally ranked first in the country by Ultiworld and have placed 3rd and 2nd in the two most recent high school national championships.

My goal for this camp is to help foster the continued growth of this sport while holding onto its values and roots. That is competing at a high level with trust in one’s teammates and with respect to one’s opponents.
